Studievägen 13 Linköping: rent, queue and flats

Studievägen 13 Linköping is the address of a student building in ByggVesta's Colonia II area, right next to Campus Valla. The flats are let through ByggVesta's own queue, not through Studentbostäder i Linköping (SBiL) or Stångåstaden, and you need to study at least 15 credits (högskolepoäng) per term to apply.

What is Studievägen 13 Linköping?

Studievägen 13 has the postcode 583 29 and lies in Västra Valla, right next to Linköping University's main campus, Campus Valla. The building is part of Colonia II, which according to ByggVesta has the addresses Studievägen 1 and 11–17. The area was completed in 2021 and has 374 flats of 1–3 rooms and kitchen. Together with the older neighbouring area Colonia I there are just over 700 student flats.

According to ByggVesta the area has a student lounge, a shop, a gym and green activity spaces. One gable is covered by a 17 × 10 metre green wall, and in 2024 a solar power installation was put up in the block.

The flats at Studievägen 13

Every flat has a fully tiled bathroom with a shower and its own washing machine and tumble dryer, or a combined machine.

ByggVesta calls the small three-room flats "buddy flats" (kompislägenheter). They are built for two people sharing: you each have your own bedroom and share the rest of the flat. The flats are let unfurnished, and pets are allowed as long as they are not walked in the courtyard.

What does it cost to rent at Studievägen 13 Linköping?

Flats at the address advertised during 2026 had these rents according to the listings archive Kvalster:

  • 2 rooms and kitchen, 35 m²: SEK 8,486 a month
  • 3 rooms and kitchen, 43 m²: between SEK 9,716 and 9,829 a month

If you share a buddy flat at SEK 9,722, that is just under SEK 4,900 each.

Note how rent is paid. In Linköping, ByggVesta spreads the rent for the summer months over the other ten months of the year. You pay rent ten months a year, but each monthly amount also covers the summer. If your contract starts between 2 April and 31 July, you also pay rent for the first summer.

How to apply for a flat at Studievägen 13 Linköping

  1. Create an account with ByggVesta. You can join the queue from the age of 16, but you must be 18 to sign a contract. The longer you are in the queue, the more queue points you get.
  2. Upload certificates in advance. You need a registration certificate for the current term. If you are newly admitted, your admission letter is enough. Without a certificate you cannot answer an offer.
  3. Watch for vacant flats and register interest. One week after a flat is published, the ten applicants with the most queue points get an offer.
  4. Apply smart. ByggVesta says around 400 queue points are needed on average, but it varies with size, floor and time of year. In the middle of a term, fewer points are sometimes enough than at the start of term.

If you study at Campus Valla, it is worth being in several queues at once. Studentbostäder i Linköping (SBiL) and Stångåstaden have their own queues with other rules, and they do not affect your place with ByggVesta.

Good to know before you sign

  • Notice period: two calendar months. If you want to move out on 1 July, you give notice during April. If you give notice before the contract has started, three months apply.
  • How long you may stay: at most six years in ByggVesta's student housing.
  • Subletting: allowed for example for exchange studies, compulsory placement in another town or trying out living with a partner. You must have lived in the flat for at least six months and the sublet must be approved by the area manager. You may charge at most 10 percent on top of the base rent for furniture, plus a reasonable amount for utilities.
  • Queue points are kept: according to ByggVesta you keep your queue points when you get a student flat, which can help you to an ordinary rental after your studies.

A student flat is at heart a rental like any other, and Hyresgästföreningen (the Swedish Union of Tenants) can answer questions about rent and contracts. The rules on rent are in chapter 12 of the Land Code (jordabalken).

Summary

Studievägen 13 in Linköping is a modern student building from 2021 with laundry in every flat and a short walk to Campus Valla. You apply through ByggVesta's queue, need to study at least half time, and can expect around SEK 8,500 for a two-room flat and SEK 9,700–9,800 for a buddy three-room flat, paid ten months a year.
